Diagnosis. Fafana timhoti is an orange species with a yellow head and infuscate wings.
Description. FEMALE (4 specimens). L: 7.9, 8.4 (7.5–9.9).
Head. Strongly constricted behind eyes. Temples short and narrow. Frons concave, with a weak median longitudinal ridge. Head entirely smooth and shining. Clypeus convex, transverse (Ci = 2.2). Malar space short (MLMi = 0.5). Antenna with 39–43 flagellomeres.
Mesosoma . Smooth with sparse and minute punctures on basal part of mesopleuron. Median lobe of mesonotum clearly protruding, notaulus only distinct as a strong basal impression. Propodeum with complete carination. Area basalis opposite to truncate, area superomedia 1.5x as long as wide, area petiolaris with transverse wrinkles, longer and wider than superomedia. Ventral tooth of hind femur blunt. Propodeum, mesosternum and coxa with rather dense silvery pilosity.
Metasoma. Smooth. Tergite I about 1.3x longer than tergite II, and twice as long as wide apically. Ovipositor long (OTi = 2.0–2.2).
Color. Orange overall, the head and pronotum yellow. Black: occiput, scape and pedicel, the three lobes of mesonotum (sometimes more brown) and ovipositor sheath. Antenna, hind tarsus and ovipositor infuscate. Wings distinctly infuscate, the pterostigma same color as the wing membrane. One specimen with mesopleuron and mesosoma infuscate.
MALE. L: 7.5. Hind femur stouter and femoral tooth sharper than female, femoral tooth followed by a series of denticles. Dorsal part of mesopleuron and metasoma infuscate. Male gonosquama stout subquadrate, its dorsal corners rounded.
Etymology. Euphonic named for Thimoté Hot.
Distribution records. Madagascar (Toliara province).
