Unterscheidet sich von der Gattung Brassica (S. 184) durch folgende Merkmale: Früchte im Querschnitt bikonvex bis quadratisch; Samen in jedem Fach 2reihig; Fruchtschnabel deutlich abgeflacht.

Die Gattung Eruca umfaßt 5 Arten, die im Mittelmeergebiet verbreitet sind.
