Distribution: Brazil: Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul. Uruguay: Río Negro ( GonÇalves & Melo, 2006). Argentina: Entre Ríos and Misiones. New records.
Remarks: Thectochlora hamata is the second species of the genus recorded in Argentina.This species can be easily distinguished from T. alaris (the other species present in Argentina) and all other species of the genus by the presence of a hook on the foreleg trochanter ( Fig. 4F View Figure 4 ).
