Genus Aegiptophorus Sevastianov and Abo-Korah, 1984
Heteropygmephorus Kurosa, 2002: 27 , syn. nov.
Type species: Aegiptophorus shibinensis Sevastianov and Abo-Korah, 1984 by original designation. Heteropygmephorus onthophagi Kurosa, 2002: 30 , figs. 1–5 syn. nov.
Kurosa (2002) described the monotypic genus Heteropygmephorus with the type species H. onthophagi Kurosa, 2002 from Japan and provided following differential characters of the genus Aegiptophorus “P. 28: pinnaculum is not so huge as in the genus Aegyptophorus, no incision is present on postaxial margin of tibiotarsus I, and seta u' of the same segment is short and spine-like”. My examination of holotype and one paratype of Aegiptophorus shibinensis Sevastianov and Abo-Korah, 1984 surprisingly revealed conspecificity of Aegiptophorus shibinensis with Heteropygmephorus onthophagi . A. shibinensis has no incision on the postaxial margin of tibiotarsus I, and seta u' of the same segment is short and spine-like. Therefore I consider Heteropygmephorus onthophagi syn. nov. as a junior synonym of Aegiptophorus shibinensis and the genus Heteropygmephorus syn. nov as a junior synonym of Aegiptophorus .
Material examined. Female holotype and one female paratype of Aegiptophorus shibinensis Sevastianov and Abo-Korah, 1984 , slide 1347, EGYPT: vicinity of Shibin-el-Kom, soil under wheat, 31 July 1980, coll. S.M. Abo- Korah.
