ZMA V.Pol. 1986.03 (as Syllis brachychaeta ), Indonesia, anchorage North of Salomakiëe (Damar-) Isl., dredge, townet, reef exploration, corals, down to 45 m, Siboga Expedition, Sta. 144, 7/ 9 Aug. 1899; 1 spec. Remarks. Except for the typical colour pattern, the specimens agree well with the previous descriptions. However, more than 100 years in alcohol may have caused the loss of pigmentation.

Distribution. Apparently cosmopolitan in warm seas.
