4. Calleida lativittis species group

Diagnostic characters: Medium-sized, elongate, slender species: L 8.5–10.8 mm. Head, pronotum, lateral margins of elytra and ventral side yellow reddish; elytra metallic green or bluish green, with or without a large reddish patch extended from scutellum to apex. Anterior angles of pronotum with several short, erect setae; pronotum, elytral intervals and abdominal sterna punctate, glabrous or with distinct pubescence. Elytra elongate and narrow (ratio EL/EW: 1.76–2.02), parallel-sided or slightly widened at the posterior fifth. Abdominal sternum VII with one seta on each side in males, two setae in females. Median lobe of aedeagus simple, without prominent lobe on the ventral side; endophallus with two narrow, spine-like copulatory pieces.

Taxonomic note: Three species, including one new species, are attributed to this group, distributed from India to northern Thailand and Yunnan ( map 3 ). Species of this group are rare and little known, and strictly allopatric according to examined materials ( map 3 ).

This species group is considered to be monophyletic, for the similarities in the markedly elongate elytra, anterior angles of pronotum setose, and the general habitus. So far, the complete male genitalia of one only species have been examined ( C. lativittis Chaudoir ), and some details of two immature males of another species ( C. excelsa Bates ) from Yunnan, which may suggest relationships with taxa of the Calleida splendidula species group.
