A genus of 12 species, one of which occurs in Ecuador ( Fig. 83 View FIGURE 83 ). See May (1992) for identification. The nymphs are found in small, clear mountainous streams.

Neocordulia batesi (Selys, 1871) . Publ. Recs. ECU: *Martin (1906, 1909), Campos (1922), Paulson (1983 —also as Neocordulia longipollex ), Tsuda (1986, 1991 —also as N. longipollex ), Steinmann (1997b), Garrison (2006—as N. longipollex as a ssp. of N. batesi ).
