Diagnosis: Males of S. longispinosus have a RCm, with some papillae as in S. gaimani , but a flattened round end, canoe-shaped instead of bulky ( Figs 22H, 32A). Females of S longispinosus have the epigynum with lateral margins straight and parallel, and posterior margin straight or slightly curved inwards (concavity up; Figs 23E, 36A).

Description: Male (from Hidalgo, TSM 703). Total length 2.89. Prosoma 1.11 long, 0.91 wide. Prosoma height 0.96, fovea height 0.60. Opisthosoma 1.78 long, 0.83 wide, 0.59 high. Clypeus height 0.20. AME 0.06, ALE 0.06, PME 0.06, PLE 0.06. Femur I 2.79 (2.51× prosoma length), Metatarsus I 3.95, TmI 0.13. Prosoma dark yellow, uniform. Opisthosoma beige without markings. Legs same colour as the prosoma, without any marks ( Fig. 22A–D). RCs short, about the same thickness as RCm ( Fig. 22H).

Female (from Quetzaltenango TSM 658). Total length 2.32. Prosoma 0.92 long, 0.75 wide. Prosoma height 0.76, fovea height 0.57. Opisthosoma 1.40 long, 1.03 wide, 1.81 high. Clypeus height 0.11. AME 0.05, ALE 0.05, PME 0.05, PLE 0.05. Femur I 1.75 (1.9× prosoma length), Metatarsus I 1.59, TmI 0.16. Prosoma light yellow, uniform. Opisthosoma dark grey with the dorsum completely covered with guanine. Legs same colour as the prosoma, without any marks ( Fig. 23A–D). Openings of the pre-chamber posterior ( Fig. 34A).
