Illies (1963) assigned this genus to the subfamily Leptoperlinae View in CoL . Based on the revision of Australian Gripopterygidae ( McLellan 1971) View in CoL , I see no reason for changing his conclusion. The wings in the Australian Leptoperlinae View in CoL , like those of Notoperla View in CoL have no fork in Rs and Cu1 and the hindwing has five anal veins. The male genitalia in Leptoperlinae View in CoL , particularly in Riekoperla View in CoL , are much like that of Notoperla View in CoL .
