Etymology.
Pseudophanerotoma alexsmithi is named to honor Dr. Alex Smith of the University of Guelph in recognition of his dedicated logistic, taxonomic, and ecological support for all things ACG, with special emphasis on the biology of the volcano elevational gradients in biodiversity.
