Holotype. ♂, BRAZIL: São Paulo: Ubatuba , 10.x.1971, P. Montouchet, light ( MZSP; not examined). The specimen has not yet been returned to the MZSP, so was unavailable for study.

Recognition. This species most closely resembles D. castaneicoxa , but we need to examine the holotype of D. hostilis before making a decision to synonymize them.
