Holotype. ♂, COSTA RICA: La Caja, ix–xi.1924, Nevermann ( MZSP; not examined). The specimen has not yet been returned to the MZSP, so was unavailable for study.

Recognition. Although we do not know what this species might be, the illustration of its hind femur resembles that of D. lugens .
