Holotype. ♂, BRAZIL: Pará: Utinga, Belem , xii.1966, S.J. de Oliveira [ LACM ENT 060167 About LACM ] ( MZSP; examined).
Species recognition. This species differs from others in the group by the relatively normal-sized male genitalia and pattern of peglike setae on the hind femur, which is of a single group in two to three rows.
Description. Body length: 1.72–1.91 mm. Head: Frons brown, second row of setae straight. Flagellomere 1 rounded-oval, light brown. Palpus of normal size, light brown. Thorax: Scutum light brown. Scutellum brown, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta one-half length of posterior seta. Pleuron light brown to yellowishbrown ventrally. Mean costal length 0.53 wing length. Halter light brown. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellowish-brown. Foretibia with 4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres 1–4 enlarged, flattened. Midcoxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe yellow, round, elongate. Posterior face of hind femur with well-spaced, relatively long peglike setae in basal group, roughly arranged in two to three rows ( Figs 51–52). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 light brown, tergites 2–6 brown, light brown medially; tergite 6 light brown. Venter of abdomen whitish-yellow, with few longer setae on segment 5. Male terminalia brown, cercus yellow; terminalia not greatly enlarged ( Fig. 321).
Distribution. Known from a single site in Amazonian Brazil.
