Etymology. From the Latin combination of profund - and bifurcus, meaning deeply dichotomous, referring to MP forked close to the bifurcation point of M.
Type material. Holotype CNU-NEU-NN2020001P/C, only the hind wing preserved ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
Locality and horizon. Daohugou Village, Shantou Township, Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia, China; Jiulongshan Formation, Aalenian/Bajocian boundary, Middle Jurassic.
Diagnosis. As for genus.
Description. Hind wing 28.36 mm in length as preserved, 8.59 mm in width.
Hind wing ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ): Membrane decorated with some small spots near the distal one-third of wing; medial nygmata present; RP branches more than 30; crossveins densely distributed in proximal part of RP field; an additional sinuous vein present at RP1 base; MA forming simple bifurcated branches distally; MP1 with 6 distal pectinated branches; MP2 bifurcated at the middle, each sub-branch with simple distal dichotomous branches; CuA parallel with posterior margin, and with more than 20 branches; CuP with 12 pectinated branches; A1 short, only with 5 branches; A2 forming 3 simple branches.
