Material examined. BULGARIA: Isperihovo env., 17.v.2009, V. Zieris leg. (1 ♂ in SJCP).
Distribution. Protaetia (N.) subpilosa is a widespread species. Its nominotypical subspecies is known from Greece, Asia Minor, Jordan and Syria (e.g. Mikšić 1987a; Baraud 1992). Populations from Lebanon and Israel were recently described as ssp. dorchini Legrand and Drumont, 2006 , while Iranian populations are attributed to ssp. iranica Montreuil and Legrand, 2010 . First record from Bulgaria.
