Type Locality: Togo, near Kete-Kradji.

Vernacular Names: Togo Mole-rat.

Distribution: EC Ghana, WC Togo.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Includedin ochraceocinereus by de Graaff (1975) but considered a distinct species based on characteristics of the infraorbital foramina by Honeycutt et al. (1991).
