Material examined. Australia, WA, Northwest Shelf , between Port Hedland and Dampier (19°59.00–59.4'S, 117°51.4–50.4'E), 42 m, 18.II.1983 (stn NWA 1 ), J40941 View Materials (2 specimens) .
Type locality. Southern Sagami Nada, Japan. Distribution. Japan and Philippines; Australia, Western Australia; 42– 522 m. Remarks. This species shares the minutely dentate lateral margin of the antennal scale and a broad rostrum with P. lowisi . It can be readily distinguished by the lack of a lateral spine on the antennal scale (present in P.lowisi ) and the placement of spines and carina on the carapace.
