Protohermes piaocanus Liu, Hayashi & Yang, 2008 . Zootaxa 1851: 36. Type locality: Vietnam (Mt. Pia Oac).

Material examined. Holotype ɗ, VIETNAM: Cao Bang Prov., Mt. Pia Oac, 22°36΄N, 105°51΄E, 14.V.1998 ( CAU).

Distribution. Vietnam (Cao Bang Prov.).

Remarks. This species is a member of the Protohermes guangxiensis group (Liu et al. 2008) and its distribution has been only restricted to the Mt. Pia Oac of northern Vietnam.
