Otostigmus telus Chamberlin, 1939 View in CoL
O. telus Chamberlin, 1939 View in CoL , 4. Pionierbivak, New Guinea [Irian Jaya, Indonesia]. O. telus: Chamberlin: 1944b View in CoL , 3 (in list).
Description. (From Chamberlin (1939)). Length 48 mm. Antennae with 23 articles, the basal 2.25–2.33 glabrous. Tergites with complete paramedian sutures from 5, marginate from 8, low rounded keels from about 5, with very fine spinules. Ultimate tergite with posterior median depression. Sternites smooth, sternite of ultimate leg-bearing segment narrowed posteriorly, posterior margin “curved”. Coxopleural process with three apical and two lateral spines. No dorsal spine.
Legs 1–19 with two tarsal spurs, 20 with one, 21 with none. Ultimate leg prefemoral spines VL 3, VM 3, DM 1, CS 1.
Remarks. Chamberlin (1939) did not describe the forcipular coxosternal tooth-plates. He stated that it was a species close to O. loriae . It is incompletely described and is thus a nomen dubium. The holotype is in the Bogor Zoological Museum, Java.
