Note: Most recent authors, including Verdoorn (in Bothalia 6: 411, f. 2. 1954) and Ross ( l.c. 10: 386. 1971; 11: 446. 1975), have informally rejected the name, Acacia karroo Hayne being taken up in its place. However, no formal rejection proposal has been made.
