Diagnosis. Medium-sized Ctenidae (total length male 15.7). Distinguished from other Ctenus species treated in this paper by the prominent dorsal cymbial spur ( Figs 171–172 View FIGURES 170–173 ). According to Strand (1906) this species is similar to C. argentipes Hasselt 1893 , C. hosei F.O. Pickard-Cambridge 1897 and C. floweri F.O. Pickard- Cambridge 1897.
Redescription. Male. PL 9.3, PW 6.9, AW 3.5, OL 6.4, OW 4.1. Spination of palp and legs: palp 15(6)1, 100, 1110; femora I p021, d111, r112, II–III p112, d111, r 112, IV p112, d111, r012; patellae 101; tibiae I–II p110, d111,
along entire furrow. Retromargin of chelicerae close to fang base with 8–9 bristles. Ventral coxae with short setae ( Fig. 178 View FIGURES 174–178 ).
Palp as in diagnosis ( Figs 170–173 View FIGURES 170–173 ). Proximal cymbium with large dorsal extension forming a strongly bent spur with a ventrad tip. RTA arising medially from tibia, with two small apices (ventral view) connected by concave silhouette (retrolateral view). Embolus arising at 7-o’clock-position, short, broad; embolus tip situated in retrolateral half of tegulum, with subdistal appendix, sperm duct opening dorsally. Conductor arising at 12.30- o’clock-position in distal half. Tegular apophysis arising in 4.30-o’clock-position, rather small, constricted proximally.
Colour ( Figs 174–176 View FIGURES 174–178 ). Yellowish- to reddish-brown. Dorsal prosoma with remnants of light median band. Fovea marked with black, striae distinct. Sternum and ventral coxae yellowish-brown. Chelicerae as dorsal prosoma. Legs without distinct pattern. Dorsal opisthosoma with light patch above heart region and paired patches in posterior half. Ventral opisthosoma with median field slightly darker, epiandrium and spinnerets light.
