Type Locality: Dem. Rep. Congo, Kasaï-Occidental, Kananga (= Luluabourg).
Vernacular Names: Least Pelomys.
Distribution: NE Angola ( Crawford-Cabral, 1998), NW Zambia ( Ansell, 1978), S and E Dem. Rep. Congo, and W Tanzania ( Swynnerton and Hayman, 1951).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: A distinct species; aspects of its morphology resemble some species of Lemniscomys (e.g., L. griselda ).
