Bolitogyrus nigropolitus Smetana, 2000: 327 View in CoL (Type locality: China, W Sichuan, Ya’an Prefecture, Tianquan Co. Jiain Shan, Labahe; key to species of Mainland China); Hu et al., 2011: 62 (key to species of Mainland China).

Material examined. CHINA: Sichuan Province: 1 ♂, Baoxing County, Fengtongzhai, 7. VI. 1997, coll. Haisheng Zhou; 1 ♀, Baoxing County, Pujigou, 2100 m, 14. VIII. 2003, coll. Jie Wu; 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Baoxing County, Fengtongzhai, 1730 m, 30. VI, coll. Hongzhang Zhou.

Comments. The present specimens were collected very close to the type locality in central Sichuan Province. The specimens we collected matched very well with the original description.

Distribution. Bolitogyrus nigropolitus Smetana, 2000 is known only from high mountains in central Sichuan Province, at altitudes between 1250 m and 2100 m. The specimen from Baoxing County, Pujigou was collected from a log. The examined specimens were collected from June to August.
