Habitat and Biology: A widespread eastern species, R. sayi is found under the bark of deciduous or coniferous trees ( Bousquet 1990; Thomas & Lundgren 1992) and are also associated with bark beetle galleries (TCM, pers. obs.). Passive traps, especially Lindgren funnel or windowpane traps baited with ethanol, collect adult beetles on warmer days during the winter months (October to April) in Georgia.
