Distribution and remarks: found in lower courses of most rivers from the Cross River in the north to the Chiloango in the south, collected also from the Nyanga and Komo (Fermon, pers. obs.) in Lower Guinea, and widespread in fresh and brackish waters from Senegal to the Kunene River, Namibia ( Mennesson et al., 2019).
