Distribution and remarks: Atlantic Ocean: known in tropical and subtropical waters, including the Mediterrane- an, Black Sea, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Guinea and West Africa. Caught by the artisanal and industrial fishery, during the dry season (Chartrain and De Bruyne, pers. obs.). Highly migratory species, Annex I of the 1982 UNCLOS.
