Distribution and remarks: Rio Muni Basin in Equatorial Guinea. Name used as synonym of Barbus ablabes (Fowl- er, 1930), Listed by Günther as a junior synonym of Barbus camptacanthus . Currently considered as a valid taxon ( Roberts, 2010; Hayes and Armbruster, 2017). It seems like E. potamogalis is restricted to small coastal basins in N. Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and likely southern Cameroon (R. Schmidt, pers. com.)
