Basionym of: Geranium moschatum (L.) L. (1754) .

Lectotype (designated here by Aedo): Herb. Burser XVIII: 58 (UPS).

Current name: Erodium moschatum (L.) L’Hér. ( Geraniaceae ).

Note: A number of authors (e.g. Schönbeck-Temesy in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 69: 55. 1970) have treated 858.44 (LINN) as the type but this collection is evidently a post-1753 addition to the herbarium and is not original material for the name.
