The name refers to the collector of the type material, H. K. Townes.
Male. Postpedicel longer than its greatest breadth. Left side of epandrium as Fig. 104 and tip of right gonopod, left gonopod and lobes of hypandrium as Fig. 105. Wing 1.3–1.4 mm long. Costal index 0.50–0.55. Vein 3 with a terminal vesicle which extends beyond with tip of costa. All tibiae are brown.
Material. Holotype male, Venezuela, Lara, Yacambo , 1200 m, 7 May 1981, H. K. Townes ( LACM, 26- 75) . Paratypes, 4 males, Yacambo, 1200 m, Malaise trap, 10 May 1981, H. K. Townes ( DEBU, CUMZ 14-60 View Materials - 61 View Materials ) .
