DISTRIBUTION: Oaxaca ( Mexico) to SE Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador; Trinidad; perhaps New Providence Isl (Bahama Isis), see Jones and Carter (1976:10).

SYNONYMS: occidentalis .

COMMENTS: Includes occidentalis ; see Jones and Carter (1976:10). See Lassieur and Wilson (1989, Mammalian Species, 347).
