SYNONYMS: Austronomus , Nyctinomus, Rhizomops.

COMMENTS: Formerly included Chaerephon , Mops , Mormopterus , and Nyctinomops ; see Freeman (1981:133). Includes Rhizontops, but see Legendre (1984); see also Owen et al. (1990). Mahoney and Walton (1988) regarded Nyctinomus as the prior name for this genus.
