DISTRIBUTION: Chiapas ( Mexico) to SW South Dakota ( USA) and SC British Columbia ( Canada).

SYNONYMS: aztecus , pahasapensis, vespertinus.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Myotis . Revised by Miller and Allen (1928:122-129). See O'Farrell and Studier (1980, Mammalian Species, 137).
