Paranocaracris rubripes acinosus View in CoL f. flavitarsalis f. n.: Demirsoy 1973: 426; Demirsoy 1977: 83.

Type locality. Turkey, Artvin, Ardanuç , Opiza Manastırı. Holotype: female ( ZIN).

Material examined. TURKEY: Artvinsk [Artvin], Opiza-Porta [ Opiza Monastery ], 20.7.1909, 1♀ (Holotype) (leg. Nesterov) ( ZIN).

Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 844 View FIGURE 844 ).

Remarks. This species is known from only a single female. It is similar to N. rubripes . But it is distinguished from it by the median carina of pronotum with a distinct longitudinal sulcus along its length, very slightly narrowing backwards (anterior part of sulcus distinct, clearly narrowing or disappearing backwards in N. rubripes ), the hind femur with red inner and ventral surfaces (black in N. rubripes ) and the yellow hind tibia (not unicolor yellow in N. rubripes ). It is distinguished from N. ponticus Ramme and N. demirsoyi (Ünal) by the median carina of pronotum with a wide longitudinal sulcus along its length, slightly narrowing backwards (very narrow or disappeared backwards in N. ponticus and N. demirsoyi ), the yellow hind tibia (hind tibia black or bluish- or greenish black in N. ponticus and N. demirsoyi ), the hind femur with reddish inner and ventral surfaces (black in N. ponticus and N. demirsoyi ). It is also near to N. cinerascens Ramme. But the clearly more dorso-ventrally depressed body and pronotum (compressed laterally in N. cinerascens ), the hind femur with red inner and ventral surfaces (black in N. cinerascens ), the yellow hind tibia (light to dark blue, rarely with yellowish-reddish distal part in female of N. cinerascens ) are different, but in the future it should be compared again with newly collected material.

The specimens given by Demirsoy (1973) from Sivas and Erzincan probably belong to N. cinerascens Ramme which was synonymized by him with this species. The specimens given as a new form of N. acinosus ( Demirsoy 1973: 426) from Palandöken should be confirmed.
