Distribution and habitat:—Forests of the South Concan, Canara and Malabar in Peninsular India.
Note:—A detailed morphological description of Polyalthia fragrans can be referred in Dalzell (1851), Hooker & Thomson (1855), and King (1893). Relevant misidentified Chinese specimens, viz. Yanhui Li 03066 (KUN) and Sino- Russia exped. 9272 (IBSC) can be referred to Fig. 2A & B View FIGURE 2 .
