A Nearctic species whose adults and nymphs are usually found on Rodentia : Castoridae , although those stages have also been collected from Carnivora : Mustelidae , and Rodentia : Cricetidae . Undetermined stages have been recovered from Rodentia : Felidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Little et al. 2018). Ixodes banksi is a rare parasite of humans.
