Redescriptions
F: Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957), Voltzit (2007); see note below
Note: Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) illustrated what they believed to be the male of Amblyomma crassum , but Fairchild et al. (1966) held that this description probably refers to Amblyomma sabanerae , and the male described
by Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) is not included above. Guglielmone et al. (2003) noted that Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) figured the female of Amblyomma crassum but that it differs from the original description by Robinson (1926). See also Amblyomma humerale for its probable confusion with Amblyomma crassum and Amblyomma sabanerae .
