13. Hyalomma impeltatum Schulze and Schlottke, 1929a View in CoL .
An Afrotropical and Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Camelidae ; larvae and nymphs are usually recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae , and Rodentia : Muridae . All parasitic stages have been collected from Erinaceomorpha : Erinaceidae ; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae , and Passeriformes : Muscicapidae ; adults and larvae have been taken from Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Camelidae . Adults alone have been found on Artiodactyla : Suidae , Perissodactyla : Equidae and Rhinocerotidae , Carnivora : Canidae and Felidae , and Struthioniformes : Struthionidae ; nymphs and larvae have been collected from Rodentia : Muridae , while nymphs alone have been recovered from Rodentia : Dipodidae , and Squamata : Lacertidae . This host profile is based on Guglielmone et al. (2014), implying that records of unknown stages of Hyalomma impeltatum from Hyracoidea in Alanazi et al. (2018) need confirmation. Hyalomma impeltatum is a rare parasite of humans.

Note: see Hyalomma somalicum for its confusion with Hyalomma erythraeum , currently a synonym of Hyalomma impeltatum . Recent records of Hyalomma impeltatum from the Oriental Zoogeographic Region in Paikade and Chavan (2019) are here considered doubtful.
