Basionym:— Lophozia tasmanica R.M.Schust. , Nova Hedwigia 15: 484, 1968 ( Schuster 1968). Holotype:— AUSTRALIA. Tasmania: Above Camp Creek, Surprise Valley, Lyell Hwy., between Derwent Bridge and

Queenstown, ca. 2-3 mi. W. of King William Saddle, ca. 2,000 ft., Schuster RMS 50261 ( holotype F) .
