Triomicrus nabanhensis Shen and Yin View in CoL , new species
( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 )
Type material (1 ♂, 1 ♀). Holotype: China: ♂, labeled ‘ China: Yunnan, Nabanhe N. R. (纳板河), Bengganghani (蚌岗哈尼), Shanshenmiao (山神庙), 22°08’45’’N, 100°35’28’’E, 1700 m, 14.vi.2006, Hu & Tang leg.’ ( SNUC). Paratype: China: 1 ♀, same data as the holotype except ‘ 11.vi.2006 ’ ( SNUC).
Diagnosis. Antennomere XI with impression surrounding moderately prominent, disc-like protuberance near base. Head lacking median vertexal carina. Pronotum sparsely punctate. Elytral subhumeral sulci absent. Profemora, protrochanters and protibiae simple, protarsomeres I with three minute spines, mesotibiae lacking spur. Apical lamina of abdominal sternite VII composed of two sclerites. Aedeagus with right paramere curved mesally, internal sac bearing several sclerotized spines and several setose sclerites.
Description. Male ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A). Length 1.91–1.94 mm. Head longer than wide, HL 0.39–0.40 mm, HW 0.38– 0.40 mm, lacking median vertexal carina; lateral portions of frons sparsely punctate; each eye composed of about 28 facets. Antennomeres XI ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 B, 2C) with impression surrounding slightly prominent disc-like protuberance near base, diameter of impression slightly more than two-fifths of segmental length. Pronotum wider than long, PL 0.44–0.45 mm, PW 0.46–0.48 mm, finely and sparsely punctate. Profemora simple, protrochanters and protibiae lacking protuberance or spine, protarsomeres I with three minute spines ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E, 2F), mesotibiae lacking spur. Elytra wider than long, EL 0.64–0.78 mm, EW 0.78–0.79 mm, smooth; subhumeral sulci absent. Abdomen wider than long, AL 0.41–0.43 mm, AW 0.72–0.73 mm; abdominal tergite IV (first visible tergite) with discal carinae extending to apical two-fifths of tergal length; abdominal sternite VII modified ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D), with apical lamina composed of two sclerites, left apical margin strongly elongate. Length of aedeagus ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 G) 0.29 mm, with right paramere strongly curved mesally, internal sac bearing several sclerotized spines and several setose sclerites.
Female. Similar to male; antennomere XI and protibiae unmodified. Each eye composed of about 12 facets. Measurements: BL 1.75 mm, HL 0.30 mm, HW 0.40 mm, PL 0.40 mm, PW 0.45 mm, EL 0.63 mm, EW 0.78 mm, AL 0.43 mm, AW 0.70 mm.
Distribution. Southwest China: Yunnan.
Comments. Males of the new species can be readily separated from all other congeners by protarsomere I with three minute spines ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E, 2F), and the apical lamina of abdominal sternite VII ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D) composed of two sclerites, and with the left apical margin of the lamina strongly protruding.
Etymology. This species is named after the type locality, Nabanhe Nature Reserve.
