Material examined. 1♂, 1♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Jinghong , 22°36’N, 101°25’E, 3.xi.2017, leg. Zhaotai Wei. 1♂, 1♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Menglun , 21°56’N, 101°14’E, alt. 500m, 4.ix.2019, leg. Guozhong Yang.

Measurements [in mm, ♂ (n = 2), ♀ (n = 2)]. Body length, ♂ 60.7–73.4, ♀ 62.1–77.0. Pronotum length, ♂ 21.3– 26.1, ♀ 24.4–32.6. Forewing length, ♂ 38.6–52. 0, ♀ 39.5–49.1.

Distribution. China (Yunnan); Thailand; Vietnam.

Remarks. Current records in Yunnan, China represents the northernmost distribution record of M. quinquespinosa as well as the genus. Male genitalia ( Fig. 13L–M ) and ootheca ( Fig. 15Q ) of specimens studied herein do not differ from those present in Schwarz et al. (2018c) and Liu et al. (2020).
