scientific name

Arenaria tetraquetra L.
status

Gypsophila aggregata Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 1: 406. 1753.

“Habitat in monte Vignon Galliae, Monspelii, Pyrenaeis.” RCN: 3283.

Lectotype (Goyder in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 97: 23. 1988): Herb. Burser XI: 134 (UPS).

Current name: Arenaria tetraquetra L. ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: López González & Nieto Feliner (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 102: 1–8. 1990) argued that Goyder’s type choice was inappropriate and that 585.3 (LINN) should have been chosen instead. However, the Burser collection is original material for the name, and Goyder’s choice has priority.
