Pheidole bilimeki Mayr HNS , 1870: 985. Lectotype major worker: Mexico (Bilimek) [ NMW] (examined).

Pheidole rectiluma Wilson HNS , 2003: 493, figs. Holotype major worker and associated paratype minor worker: Mexico, Tamaulipas, Sa. de Guatemala, Rancho del Cielo, 1070m, 23 Jul 1965 (Cornell Univ. Mexico Field Party) [ MCZ] (examined). New synonymy.

Comments

The Pheidole bilimeki HNS complex was reviewed by Longino and Cox (2009) (full synonymy presented there). On subsequent examination of the types of P. rectiluma HNS , they were found to fall within the range of variation of typical P. bilimeki HNS . The types of P. rectiluma HNS match the typical widespread dark form, not the yellow form of southern Mexico.
