Distribution, phenology and biology: D. placodes appears to have a distribution restricted to the north-western parts of the Limpopo Province of South Africa ( Fig. 13 View Fig ). The species is active in the adult phase from December through to April (no records for March) (Table 1). A single NMSA prey record is (sex of predator in brackets): Diptera (1): Mydidae (^).
