Type-species: Culumana torqua DeLong & Freytag, 1972: 233 .

Diagnosis.

Moderately robust and elongated leafhoppers ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Color frequently reddish-brown dorsally and yellow or brownish-yellow ventrally; with black macula near anterior margin of pronotum, m-cu1, m-cu2 and apex of anal veins of forewings ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ). Head ( Fig. 2A View FIGURES 2 ) not or slightly produced anterad, median length of crown 1\3 to 1\4 of interocular width; crown with transverse parallel striae, anterior margin broadly rounded, anterior and posterior margins almost parallel margined; ocelli large, near anterior margin, nearer eyes than median line or equidistant; in lateral view ( Fig. 2C View FIGURES 2 ) frequently without a definite anterior margin. Forewing ( Fig. 2D View FIGURES 2 ) without additional crossveins, appendix developed. Pygofer ( Fig. 2G, H View FIGURES 2 ) with basodorsal processes; apical portion frequently strongly tapered (DeLong & Freytag 1972b: 407, fig. 4). Style (DeLong & Freytag 1972b: 407, fig. 3) usually excavated on ventral margin; apex frequently blunt or rounded. Connective Y-shaped ( Fig. 2F View FIGURES 2 ). Subgenital plates ( Fig. 2I View FIGURES 2 ) ligulate or spoon-shaped, with or without long hair-like setae. Aedeagus ( Fig. 2M View FIGURES 2 ) with preatrium and dorsal apodeme developed, without apodemal processes; shaft long, frequently with apical and subapical processes.
