Distribution. Palaearctic species, widespread in Europe (except for Mediterranean region) and Russia, including the Far East.
Status in CZ. Previously recorded only from Vlastiboř in southern Bohemia ( Máca 1977), based on a single female specimen ( 4.vii.1974, J. Olejníček det., BMS). As females of this species are difficult to identify, the above listed males represent the first reliable records and hereby confirm its occurrence in CZ .
Ecology. Species of submontane and montane forests, found so far exclusively on spruce in relatively humid, semi-shady sites. It seems to prefer old tree trunks (after or at very late phase of infestation by bark beetles).
