Habitat and general distribution.

Agonum thoreyi is a Holarctic species ( Arndt et al. 2011). The species is stenotopic in reeds ( Arndt et al. 2011).

Material examine.

Comments.

Agonum thoreyi is a widespread, cosmopolitan species that has been reported from Greece for a first time by Schmidt and Liebherr (2009), while this is the first record of A. thoreyi in Crete. The species was found in a northern small river mouth near a sand dune system that is regularly crowded for recreational activities.
