Diagnosis. Goeldia mexicana differs from the other species by the male palp with tegular process triangular, short, and distally narrowed ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); and patellar apophysis straight, triangular, with tip rounded ( Fig. 15B–C View FIGURE 15 ). The female epigynum can be recognized by its median field well developed, resembling G. luteipes but differing by the median area posteriorly projected ( Fig. 15E View FIGURE 15 ); apex of the copulatory ducts dorsally projected, with enlarged bases and vertical spermathecae short ( Fig. 15F View FIGURE 15 ).

Description. Male (AMNH). Coloration: carapace brown; chelicerae reddish brown; labium, endites, legs and sternum yellowish brown; opisthosoma pale brown. Total length: 5.56. Carapace: length 2.45, width 1.75, height 0.63. Opisthosoma: length 2.69, width 1.44. Clypeus: height 0.2. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.06; ALE 0.09; PME 0.07; PLE 0.09; AME–AME 0.11; AME–ALE 0.13; PME–PME 0.16; PME–PLE 0.2; AME–PME 0.11; ALE–PLE 0.06. Paturon: 1.13 long. Leg measurements: I: femur 2.04/ patella 0.72/ tibia 1.80/ metatarsus 1.6/ tarsus 0.88/ total 7.04; II: 1.75/ 0.78/ 1.56/ 1.53/ 0.72/ 6.34; III: 1.64/ 0.8/ 1.28/ 1.4/ 0.64/ 5.76; IV: 1.93/ 0.75/ 1.75/ 1.56/ 0.63/ 6.61. Epigynum median field wide and covering part of the copulatory openings ( Fig. 15E View FIGURE 15 ). Epigynal rim very narrow ( Fig. 15E View FIGURE 15 ). Fertilization ducts close together, with 1/3 the width of the middle field ( Fig. 15E View FIGURE 15 ). Copulatory ducts with enlarged base and heavily sclerotized ( Fig. 15F View FIGURE 15 ). Vertical spermathecae very short, almost the height of the copulatory duct base ( Fig. 15F View FIGURE 15 ). Apex of the copulatory duct dorsally bent ( Fig. 15F View FIGURE 15 ). Apex of the horizontal spermathecae ventrally bent ( Fig. 15F View FIGURE 15 ).

Variation. Coloration can be darker, with variable pattern where leg segments are proximally and/or dorsally lighter colored than the other segments/surfaces. Length (10 ♀): total 3.5–5.93; carapace 1.52–2.43; femur I 1.05– 1.81.
