( Figs 26D–26F View FIGURE 26 , 64 View FIGURE 64 )

Types. INDONESIA. Sulawesi: Holotype ♂ (TCHU): “Palola Pala / C. Sulawesi / VII. 1988, 89 / Mokuyosha [p, w]”. Paratypes. 1♀ (TCHU), same data as holotype; 3♂♂ (TCHU): “Palola Pala / C. Sulawesi / VII–XI. 1991 / Mokuyosha [p, w]”; 1♂ (MSCB): “ Indonesia, Sulawesi / Palu: Palolo, Lindu NP, 25– / 27 viii 1990, leg A. Riedel” [p, w]; 1♂ (RBCN): “ Indonesia, Sulawesi / Palu: Palolo, Lindu NP / 25 – 27 VIII 1990, leg A. / Riedel” [p, w].

Description. Length 11.6–13.2 mm, width 7.3–7.5 mm. General color ( Figs 26D–26F View FIGURE 26 ) yellowish; antennae yellowish brown but antennomeres IV–VII and apical 1/4 of antennomere XI black; apical 2/3 of elytra metallic blue but yellow areas along lateral margin into apical 1/3. Antennae filiform in males ( Fig. 64A View FIGURE 64 ), antennomeres IV longest, VI–XI slender, length ratios of antennomeres I–IX (X and XI lost) 1.0: 0.5: 1.3: 1.6: 1.3: 1.2: 1.3: 1.2: 1.2, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–IX 2.8: 1.9: 4.1: 4.5: 4.1: 3.9: 4.4: 4.6: 4.9; longer in female ( Fig. 64B View FIGURE 64 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–VIII (IX–XI lost) 1.0: 0.6: 1.5: 1.6: 1.5: 1.4: 1.4: 1.3, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–VIII 2.4: 2.1: 5.5: 5.0: 4.6: 4.7: 4.5: 5.0. Pronotum transverse, 2.1x wider than long, disc convex but flattened at sides, without microsculpture but with sparsely fine punctures; baso- and lateral angles depressed, apico-lateral angles broadly rounded; lateral margin rounded; apical margin slightly concave. Elytra elongate oval, widest at middle, 1.4–1.5x longer than wide; disc shining and with reticulate microsculpture and dense, coarse punctures, slightly convex, epipleurae near lateral margins, located 9/10 distance between suture and lateral margins, wider from base to basal 1/5, apically narrowed and abbreviated at apical 1/5; humeral calli prominent, with depression posterior to calli. Penis slender, 8.6x longer than wide; parallel-sided, apically tapering from apical 1/3; tectum extremely elongate, reaching apex of penis; slightly curved in lateral view, slender from apical 1/4 to apex, apex hooked; ventral surface well sclerotized; internal sac without sclerites. Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V in female truncate. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 64E View FIGURE 64 ) transverse and well sclerotized; apical margin rounded but truncate at middle, with dense, long setae along apical margin; spiculum long and wide. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 64F View FIGURE 64 ) as wide as pump, connected to pump; pump strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct separate from receptacle, elongate, apical half broadened, covered by dense, minute setae.

Diagnosis. Members of this new species are similar to those of O. celebensis Duvivier in possessing yellow antennomeres VIII–XI, except apical half of XI, but they differ in lacking transverse depressions on the pronotum and the distinct color pattern. In males, the aedeagi of O. takizawai sp. nov. are similar to those of O. bezdeki sp. nov., O. dimidiaticornis , and O. wangi sp. nov. in possessing an elongate tectum and apically narrowed penis. The aedeagus of O. takizawai sp. nov. is similar to that of O. bezdeki sp. nov. in possessing a truncate apex of the penis but differs in the more slender penis and absence of an angular apex (broader penis and angular apex in O. bezdeki sp. nov).

Etymology. This new species is dedicated to Haruo Takizawa, an expert leaf beetle taxonomist ( Japan), who provided assistance to this study in various ways.
