Eiphosoma atrovittatum Cresson View in CoL
Eiphosoma atrovittata Cresson 1865: 52 . [Original description. Lectotype ♀, CUBA (ANSP, not examined). Designated by Cresson 1916: 18]
Diagnosis. Lack of any of the specializations outlined above for the other species-groups separates E. atrovittatum from the rest of the Cuban species and puts it within the macrum species-group. The combination of smooth metapleuron, forewing with an infumate distal apex and a complete areolet, submetapleural carina not or weakly raised and propodeum yellow with median and lateral longitudinal black marks serve to identify this species.
Comments. This is the only Cuban species belonging to the macrum species-group. It is distributed widely within Cuba, but only two specimens other than the lectotype were found in collections .
Material examined. WC. PR: Rangel, Candelaria , xi-1966 (1 ♀, IES). EC. SC: Cobre; Guamá; vi-1952; Zayas-Alayo (1 ♂, IES). GT: Baracoa and Yateras (not examined, data from Gundlach, 1886) .
