Diagnosis. Beetle of medium size. Scapus notably larger than other ten segments; pedicellus usually equal in size to fourth or fifth one; rest of antennomeres gradually diminishing in size to the top. Pronotum transverse, its sides explanate, anterior angles at least slightly protruding anteriorly. Elytron with 10 rows of cells, organized in twos (except for cell rows on epipleuron). Two veins closest to the sutural margin (Cu and A2 sensu Jarzembowski et al., 2015 and 4 and 5 on Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 С, 6D, 8D, 12) merging near elytral apex as short veins. Apical abdominal sternite 2– 4× as long as penultimate one; abdominal sternites I–IV overlapping each other.
Remarks. Four species of Pareuryomma Tan et al., 2012 genus, which was synonymized with Notocupes ( Kirejtshuk et al., 2010) , were later excluded as synonyms of Notocupes ( Tan et al., 2012; Kirejtshuk, 2020).
Ten species of Zygadenia Handlirsch, 1906 are excluded as synonyms of Notocupes as well, namely, Z. tuberculata ( Giebel,1856) (= Curculionitestuberculatus Giebel, 1856), Z. angliae ( Giebel, 1856) (= Kakoselia angliae Handlirsch, 1906 ), Z. westraliensis (Riek, 1968) (= Mesothoris westraliensis Riek, 1968 ), Z. sinitzae Ponomarenko, 2000 , Z. handlirschi Ponomarenko, 2014 , Z. giebeli Ponomarenko, 2014 , Z. liui Jarzembowski, 2015 , Z. floodpagei Jarzembowski, 2015 , Z. simpsoni Jarzembowski, 2015 , and Z. martinae Jarzembowski, 2015 . Zygadenia is treated here as a formal taxon for isolated elytra similar to Notocupes that may, or may not, belong to Notocupes .
